What permissions do the social sign-on logins ask for?
The profile elements below change depending on if Facebook or Google sign on is used.
- Public Profile. This includes certain User's Data such as id, name, picture, gender, and their locale.
- Email Address.
What personal information do we collect from the people through our website?
Some personal information is tracked for the proper functioning of the website, and other information is requested and saved for additional coaching and support.
- A user's real name or nickname is requested to improve the personal quality of the site and communication, as well as for customer service requests and coaching.
- A user's language preference is stored to support proper site and communication functioning, and to help us connect the user with appropriate coaching and resources.
- A user's email address is required to establish an account and is used for transactional communication as part of site operation.
- A user's phone number is collected and stored for supporting the free coaching service.
- A user's city is requested to personalize site resources and communication, and to connect users to appropriate coaching and customer service resources.
- Location you provide or that we derive for coaching and maps, which may include city and coordinates
- Gender, when you choose to provide it for coaching matching
- Training progress, including session and activity completion
- Analytics data such as page views, session identifiers, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP
- Church and discipleship records you enter, such as churches you report and related training activity
- Messages you send or receive on the platform, including coaching messages
When do we collect information?
- We collect your information at login.
- We also track your progress through the training course and through site usage.
- We request necessary information through various sign up and request forms.
How do we use your information?
- We use your information to create a user account in the Zúme system based on your email address.
- We will email you with basic transactional emails like password reset requests and other system notifications.
- We email occasional reminders and encouragements depending on your progress through the training.
Why we use this information
We use personal data for the purposes below. This is how we currently describe those uses.
- Creating and running your account, training, and coaching — performance of a contract.
- Measuring site use and loading optional video or map embeds — we plan to rely on consent. A cookie choice is not offered yet, so some of this collection may still happen when you visit.
- Keeping the service secure and diagnosing problems — legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
Other organizations help us operate the service. This list is factual about who can handle personal data today. It does not claim that contracts or transfer tools are in place.
- Firebase / Google — sign-in, social login, and reCAPTCHA
- Railway and PostgreSQL / object storage — hosting the application and database
- Mailgun — email delivery
- Twilio — SMS and WhatsApp
- Sentry — error and performance monitoring
- IPStack — turning an IP address into approximate location
- Mapbox — maps
- Vimeo and YouTube — training video embeds
- Google Cloud Storage — video files for some locales
- Cloudflare R2 / S3 — uploads such as profile photos and messaging assets
- Axia International — donation payments on the donate page
- A content delivery network, if one sits in front of the site — delivery and possibly logs
International transfers
Many of these organizations are in the United States. If you use Zúme Training from the EEA, UK, or another region, your information may be processed in the US. This page does not claim specific transfer safeguards until those are confirmed.
How do we protect your information?
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only team members who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, web administrator or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
We implement a variety of security measures when a user submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
How long we keep data
We keep account data while the account is active. We do not yet run an automated job that deletes old analytics records, so analytics data may remain until such a job exists.
Your Access to and Control Over Information.
You can do the following at any time by contacting us via our "Contact Us" page.
- See what data we've aggregated from your activities with us.
- Change/correct any data we have about you.
- Have us delete your account or any data we have about you.
- Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
- Opt out of any future contact from us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Ask us to erase personal data
- Receive personal data you provided in a portable format
- Object to certain processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement. A list of authorities is published by the European Data Protection Board.
If you have an account, Profile → Privacy lets you download some profile data and request deletion. That download is not a complete copy of every system. For a full copy or other requests, use Contact.
Children
Zúme Training is open without an age restriction. We do not ask for your age or limit access based on age.
Updates
Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time and all updates will be posted on this page.
